2018 Jeep Wrangler – New Spy Photos
Jeep has been testing a heavily camouflaged prototype of the brand-new 2018 Wrangler, and it has been seen on the side of the road. Jeep probably didn’t want us to see the new version struggling during the tests, but nothing can be done about it now. The Wrangler was loaded onto the back of a flatback as it obviously had some mechanical failure during the test drive on public roads.
Even though there has been a breakdown, it was the perfect chance for a photographer to take some superb photos of the new Wrangler with two doors. The new model is going to be officially revealed by the end of the year if everything goes as planned.
As it is clearly seen, the new Wrangler sits on Rubicon-style wheels, while its exterior design will be similar to the ongoing model. However, there are some visible changes even though the vehicle is heavily camouflaged. First of all, the windshield is raked further back to improve the aerodynamics of the popular SUV, which features the prominent front bumper.
Recently, a photo of a front grille has leaked on the Internet, and it apparently follows the retro-sleek motif. The new model is definitely going to retain that body-on-frame construction, while the rests for a fold-down windscreen are also visible sticking through the covers on the hood.
Jeep will offer an I4 turbo, a V6 and one diesel engine for the 2018 Jeep Wrangler. Furthermore, Jeep is apparently developing a hybrid version as well, that will not only be fuel efficient but also a terrific off-road vehicle since the drivetrain will be designed for the rough terrain as well. After a two-door Wrangler and a four-door Wrangler Unlimited, Jeep will introduce a Wrangler-based pickup truck in 2019.
