Netflix’s new series is going to be a big one. 13 Reasons Why is going to tell us the story about a teenage girl who commits suicide. She leaves her reasons behind, and you guessed it, it’s going to be thirteen of them, each corresponding to a person, in a series of tapes. The show is actually based on the 2007 novel by Jay Asher, which made it to the New York Times Bestseller List. The book won a lot of awards with one of them being California Book Award For Young Adult.
Selena Gomez is on the team as the series producer. She was originally planned to cast in the role of the lead character Hannah Baker, but it was recently confirmed that she would not be joining the cast. It is her first outing as an executive producer.
Katherine Langford is the one that will be playing the character of Hannah Baker. She is an up-and-coming actress on the scene, with only a couple of project on her resume before she landed this opportunity. The character of Clad, who was one of the main recipients of Hannah’s suicide tapes, will be played by Dylan Minnette.
13 Reasons Why will have, well, thirteen episodes and they will all be made available on March 31 on Netflix. A lot of people in the United States have Netflix, but if you are one of them that still doesn’t have one, you better get it, so you don’t miss the premiere of this show.
