This is the second set of leaked photos of McLaren’s new supercar that is supposed to replace 650S in the Super Series range, and these have popped up just before its next week debut at the 2017 Geneva Auto Show. Latest images were firstly published by Bloomberg in one of their articles but were soon after taken down. Earlier shots were showed by supercar collector Kris Singh (Instagram users probably know him as lamborghiniks) who revealed the front look of the car.
The images we have now, reveal a great deal about the car. What is the first thing you will notice is the new “t-top” design of the vehicles MonoCage II carbon fiber tub which will now make getting in and out much easier as well as improve the stiffness and rigidity of the new model. When you sit inside, you will notice a focused cabin that will praise itself with a foldaway instrument cluster to leave as little distraction as possible for the driver when at a track. The doors, on the other hand, retained that familiar McLaren’s dihedral-opening design. The rest of the car’s appearance is impressive and evolutionary for that matter with its very aggressive deep sculpting on the sides and triangular openings for the headlights.
This new supercar is internally referred to as P14, but for everybody else outside the factory and company it is known as McLaren 720S, and it is supposed to be the first out of 15 vehicles that the British automaker will release by the end of 2024 as a part of their Track22 business plan.
As we already mentioned, it truly is a model with revolutionary design inside and out that will be adorned with a new twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8, and a new chassis system that comes complete with drift mode. Its name – the 720S is ordinarily tied to the 720 hp (710 horsepower here in the US) that it supposedly will have, and McLaren on several occasions stated that it will be able to hit 124 MPH in 7.8 seconds. You can be sure that everything will be under control as carbon-ceramic brakes and high-performance Pirelli tires can stop it again in 4.6 seconds. Another info is that the car will be able to do the quarter mile in just 10.3 seconds!
