There has been some bad news about the season 3 of The Red Road TV Show and it is not good. As it turns out, the third season has been canceled as Sundance TV decided not to renew the show for another sequel. Now, the show is canceled, and it’s not coming back.
This was an American television drama series that was airing on the Sundance TV Channel. The original script was created by Aaron Guzikowski who also works as an executive producer for this show along with Bridget Carpenter and Sarah Condon. The Red Road was the second fully owned scripted original series that Sundance TV held, with the first being the Rectify. Season one premiered on February 27, 2014, and consisted of six one-hour episodes.
The cancellation news was first broken out by the star of the show, Jason Momoa via his official Twitter page and was later confirmed on the official Facebook page of the show. The decision was not to move forward probably because of the rather disappointing viewer ratings. The show premiered with just 0.3 million viewers watching, and the later ratings were obviously not good enough for this one to continue, well, not at least on this television. There is always a chance that some other network decides to revive The Red Road for Season 3. But, at this moment, there is no news on that.
It’s always tough to give up on something that you worked hard for, and these actors are for sure devastated because of this news. Hopefully, the series will be taken over by some other network, and it will continue where the previous season stopped and with the same characters.
