Although the teaser campaign was a long one and it took some time to assemble the new 2018 Alpine A110 before which we saw concepts named “Celebration” and “Vision,” the new long-anticipated production model is finally here! This vehicle brings the iconic “A110” moniker back to life, and it will compete against sports cars such as Porsche Cayman, with its retro design inspired by the model that was in the market from 1961 to 1977.
Everything on the new Alpine A110 is modern except the curvaceous body lines that display its “Berlinette” roots. This vehicle is based on the new aluminum-intensive platform, and because of that, it will come with a floor that is completely flat, while there will be no rear spoiler as the rear diffuser will improve aerodynamics. The bespoke lightweight seats will be used for this RWD coupe, and each will weigh only 28.8 pounds as the goal of the company is to reach the curb weight of slightly over 2,204.
Although the exact performance numbers of the new Alpine A110 remain unknown, the new car is expected to go from standstill to 62 mph in just 4.5 seconds. According to several reports, this model will be equipped with a turbocharged 1.8-liter petrol engine that can offer up to 300 ponies. Some others believe that a turbocharged 2.0-liter unit will be under the hood of the 2018 Alpine A110, the same powerplant that should power the 2018 Megane RS.
2018 Alpine A110 Release Date and Price
