Mercedes is using the internet and online media channels in order to show the world that its new model E-Class Cabriolet will come with a soft top. Just ahead of the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, the German automaker teased the new droptop once again, after they had already shown a dark photo of the new model with its roof down earlier this week.
There will be no surprises when it comes to the design of the new upscale four-seat E-Class vehicle. Compared to a coupe version, the cabriolet is not going to have any significant changes except, of course, the difference between the metal roof and a soft top, which is electrically retractable and it will go down or up in less than 20 seconds.
The new 2018 Mercedes E-Class Cabriolet will have the front seats with the “Airscarf” neck-level heating system together with the “Aircap” wind deflector. This car will be based on the flexible MRA platform, just like other E-Class models from which it will receive almost all the hardware. Unfortunately, the Mercedes-AMG boss Tobias Moers has already said that an E63 Cabriolet and Coupe will not be produced. We can only hope that the German car maker will change this decision and that top of the line sport version will be delivered.
Mercedes will not only present its 2018 E-Class Cabriolet at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland. We also expect to see a “stunning new show car” which is produced by the Mercedes-AMG sub-brand and although we don’t know what vehicle that is going to be, we believe that the GT4 sedan concept with 600 hp will debut to challenge the Porsche Panamera. The production model will arrive at the beginning of next year.
Last but not least, Mercedes will also introduce the G650 Landaulet. Follow us for more details.
