Zootopia 2 – Movie DVD and Blu-ray editions will be offered from June 7 but what is even more interesting is the recent report about the sequel and relationship between Judy and Nick that could go in a slightly different direction.
For now, we still do not have official confirmation from Disney about Zootopia 2, but the directors that were working on the first movie suggested that they would need to devote more time to resolving the status of main characters. But, all this comes with the question mark as there is no confirmation for the sequel.
Zootopia managed to gather a huge number of fans, and according to some figures, it could be the second most popular film right after Captain America: Civil War. Directors Byron Howard, known for his involvement in Tangled, and Rick Morre from Wreck-It Ralph could be the choice of the studio to continue and do the next movie. They were asked in one of the interviews about the relationship between main characters and they weren’t surprised to hear that question as they are fully aware that many fans are interested in this one.
It was their original intention to leave this open, but they never thought that it would become a huge debate online. “At the very end of the movie, it does feel like there could be a little bit more, but never did I think that it would turn into the shipping that it’s become. It’s so weird because half the fans are like, ‘We love WildeHopps, and they need to get together and get married,’ and then there’s this other side that’s like, ‘No! They should not get together. Do male and female characters always have to get together at the end of every movie? Can’t they just stay best friends?”
The team added: “If we ever move forward with these characters and these stories, then that’s a debate that we’ll have to weigh in on. It will probably be the main issue we’ll need to address. One side is going to be disappointed, and I don’t know which side that is yet.”

We could also hear that many characters and scenes were left out so that they could pack everything in 108 minutes. This clearly implies that it would be easy to make the sequel and that there is enough material for the new movie to go into production in the next few months.
The first film was a great hit for Disney, and there is no doubt that they could again profit hugely if they deliver Zootopia 2. We could see more than just a few great blockbusters from this studio, and it wouldn’t be strange to see sequels for Tangled, Big Hero 6, Zootopia, Frozen, Wreck-It Ralph and so on.
