What is known as a fact is that fans are absolutely crazy over Percy Jackson. Played by Logan Lerman in a Percy Jackson series, this character is drawing much attention of the audience. The first movie was released back in 2010, and its sequel came three years later, in 2013. For four years already, the audience has been eagerly awaiting for the next installment to come out.
In 2014, Logan gave hope to the fans by saying that there would probably be the third installment:
“If we want to make a third one I have to do it, I’m contractually obligated to three movies. I love those movies, they’re e a lot of fun to make”
Three years later there has not been any official announcement. Taking some rumors into consideration, this is what could be concluded:
Apparently, at some point, Lerman stated in his interview that the third movie would not be coming out. But later he refuted this claim of his by saying that what he was only saying was he did not know whether there would be the next installment.
“I said I don’t know, I’ve never heard anything and it’s been a while since the second one was released, so I just haven’t heard anything about a third film. Unless they call me I think it’s unlikely.”
In addition to this he also stated that he would come back into the role open-handedly, in spite of his age:
“If I was 30, sure I’d play Percy again”.
However, his age might seem to be a problem for someone else. Namely, CW was thinking about turning Percy Jackson into a TV series, but this would most likely mean that the series would start from the book one, with some other actor replacing Lerman.
This franchise has been a breakthrough for Lerman, after which he had some huge roles in The Three Musketeers, The Perks of Being a Wallflower and Fury.
“It’s been a great experience for me…it’s opened up a lot of doors for me, but I don’t think it’s happening,” the actor stated.
“A lot of it is just what’s available at the time and what feels like the right next step for me in my career.”
“Fortunately, I’m in a position where I can choose what I want to do. Most actors aren’t in that position. So I have a power that others don’t at my age, and a responsibility to respect that power, and to choose roles that I think will define me.”
Finally, when it comes to the release date of the show, it is not even on the horizon!
