Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) might not showcase its iWatch or Apple TV, in the upcoming Worldwide Developer’s conference, according to the report from John Paczkowski of Re/code. In the past, the iPhone maker used to come up with one or two hardware in the event, but there will be no launch this year.
“Sources familiar with Apple’s plans tell Code/red that Tim Cook will not use WWDC to unveil Apple’s mythical wearable device,” report mentioned. The report, also, said that there is a little relevance in Apple launching an updated iOS before a significant hardware update.
No iWatch at WWDC
However, Re/code mentioned that the company would launch Mac OS X 10.10 and iOS 8 just like it is used to do, in the WWDC. There were few reports about the specifications of the new operating system for Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) desktop, and according to some onlookers the specifications upgrade will be in a similar manner to that done in iOS7 by designer Jony Ive. Apple has not yet revealed the name of OS X 10.10.
Visuals of the iOS 8 are expected to be more or less unchanged except for few iterations. The newly added features would be point-of-interest and public transportation options for Maps and a new “Healthbook” app for active users as their desktop would act as a hub for iPhone, iPod or iPad.
The 2014 edition of Apple’s Worldwide Developers’ Conference will start at the San Francisco’s Moscone Center on June 2.
Apple surely working on iWatch
Whether Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is developing an iWatch or not is under wraps, and there has not been any official confirmation from some time, now. However, recently the company acquired LuxVue, a developer of micro-LED displays, which could be the biggest hint that an iWatch is in making.
There was no confirmation from Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) over the acquisition saying, “Apple buys smaller technology companies from time to time, and we generally do not discuss our purpose or plans.”
Cook can be seen sporting a Nike FuelBand for some time now, and according to the latest rumors, Nike and Apple might be working in close collaboration to build a wearable device. Kapil Sakariya, the vice president of LuxVue has been a former Apple engineer, and from 2006-2008 he worked as a display architect on the iPhone, iPod, MacBook Pro and MacBook Air. This all indicates that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) might be working on iWatch, and could launch it in the near future.
