WWE decided to bring back two different rosters and we could saw the brand split last summer. Raw and Smackdown now have different pay-per-views, and they are totally separated. The titles are even present on both shows as the company added the Women’s Smackdown Championship and Smackdown Tag-Team titles as well. Some superstars used this brand split to make a name for themselves and make a big impact in the business.
AJ Styles – We all knew that AJ Styles is one of the best performers in the world, but the question is whether or not Vince McMahon will book this guy in the way that his talents deserve. Those questions were answered in the second half of 2016 as he beat John Cena clean at Summerslam and then was given the WWE title run. And it was a successful one. Even though he is a heel, he gets amazing reactions. WWE should turn him face soon and let him have one big run as a good guy in the company.
Braun Strowman – As soon as Strowman was separated from the Wyatt family on Monday Night Raw, the company had no other options but to push him as a monster villain and they are doing a good job. This guy has looked impressive and legit on Monday nights, and he has been able to show some of those athletic moves that people are talking about. He has been in the gym in the recent months and is looking much better than when he made his debut.
The Miz – There is no doubt about the fact that Miz has been the best heel in 2016. His over the top persona has been amazing to watch, and he is one of the best things on Smackdown Live every single week. He brought back the prestige of the IC title and had some great matches with both Dean Ambrose and especially Dolph Ziggler. Miz has reinvented himself and deserves all the praise in the world for what he’s been able to do ever since the brand split happened.
