New smartphones will be presented at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this year by the HMD Global, the Finland-based company which owns the rights to use Nokia’s brand. The media invitations have already been delivered by Nokia, and we expect to see new Android devices at the event on February 27.
From a YouTube user called ConceptCreator comes a video which indicates the design of the new Nokia P1 smartphone. In the video, we can see that the new flagship phone brings a metal frame with glass on both sides, but without bezels. Furthermore, the Nokia P1 will have a hybrid SIM slot on the left side, while the home button with the shape of a pill will be located on the front and it will also be used as a fingerprint sensor.
Moving to the back of the device, we have the camera with Carl Zeiss optics with triple flash, whereas the company name “Nokia” is written below it. At the bottom of the device, the USB Type-C charging port has been added together with the headphone jack and dual stereo speakers.
According to some earlier leaks, the P1 was supposed to use Snapdragon 835 processor, and the new report on NokiaPowerUser confirms that this one will power the device. However, the latter report also suggests that it will take some time for Nokia to launch a device with this type of processor.
Various reports indicate that the flagships with S835 are going to be postponed and should arrive after the Galaxy S8 hits the market. Nokia P1 will come with a 5.3-inch IGZO display with a refresh rate of 1 to 120Hz and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top. The camera will have 22.6 MP, whereas the 3,500 mAh battery will be integrated into the device and it will use Qualcomm’s new Quick Charge 4 fast charging tech.
Rumor has it that an Ultrasonic fingerprint reader and IP55/IP57 certifications will be included as well. The new flagship P1 will run Android 7.0 Nougat, and it will sport 6 GB of RAM with either 128 GB or 256 GB of internal storage.
