One of the most electrifying players in the NFL history has called it a career today. Michael Vick decided that his career is over and announced that he is retiring from the NFL after spending 13 seasons in the National Football League playing for the Atlanta Falcons, Philadelphia Eagles, New York Jets, and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
He was one of the most popular players in the league when he was a member for the Atlanta Falcons. A quarterback that can throw it but also run the ball as well is a pretty scary thing for all defenses. Mike was never afraid to fling that ball down field, but also never afraid to hold onto that football and run with it until the defense doesn’t catch up with him. A lot of times they couldn’t do it.
His reputations took a hit with him being in prison and it was a real shame. When he got out, the Eagles took a chance on him, and he was later trusted into the starting role. He reminded everybody of what he was able to do as a member of the Falcons as he played pretty well for the Eagles.
Some injuries later took him out and put him in a backup role with the Jets and later with the Steelers. He did have a couple of starts with the Steelers after Big Ben went down with the injury, but he wasn’t that Michael Vick we saw in Atlanta and Philly. Vick finished his career with 143 played games, 56 percent pass completion, 22,464 passing yards with 169 total TDs. He also has 6,109 rushing yards as Quarterback, and he was a four-time NFL Pro-Bowler.
