Kia has started selling its K9 model outside the US back in 2012, and this car reached the US shores two years after that. In the US, this vehicle is known as the K900 sedan, and the prototype for a redesigned model has been spotted testing. The new 2019 Kia K900 will go on sale next year.
What we can conclude from the spy shots is that the redesigned K900 is longer and sleeker than its predecessor. We can see the front grille that will have the new mesh pattern first spotted on the 2018 Kia Stinger whereas the headlights will feature the DRLs located at the bottom instead of on top. In addition, the trailing edge of the rear three-quarter window will be similar as the one Lexus has.
The 2019 Kia K900 will probably continue to get power from the V6 and V8 engines that are installed in the current model. The 3.8-liter V6 unit debuted in 2016, and it produces 311 horsepower, while the 5.0-liter V8 powerplant is more powerful with the complete output of 420 hp. Both units will be mated to the eight-speed automatic transmission as a standard, and it will send power to the rear wheels.
It is possible that Kia is going to offer an all-wheel-drive system as an option, but this has yet to be confirmed by the company. Considering that the Stinger will come with an AWD, we don’t see why that will not be the case with the K900 as well.
2019 Kia K900 Price
The starting price of the new 2019 Kia K900 will be slightly over $50,000. This sedan might not be the best seller, but we know that it is important for the carmaker because it fills the flagship sedan role, constantly reminding the buyers that there’s more to Kia than just cheap vehicles.
