Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has always been committed towards protecting the environment and is making sincere attempts to do so in the most efficient manner. Now, to celebrate the Earth Day and push its commitment further towards the environment, the Cupertino based firm has come up with a plan to take back any Apple product for free recycling.
It is trying to find ways of reusing or recycling the electronic goods, when they reach the end of their useful lives.
Apple giving more recycling options to users
This program facilitates the buyers to turn their old Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) equipments into any of the brand new equipments that Apple offers. It can be any equipment like the brand-new Mac, iPod, iPhone or iPad. The equipment may or may not be in a working state. Apple experts will examine the equipment and in case it has a monetary value and is good enough for reuse the amount will be credited to the seller’s bank account.
There is an option of getting the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) Store Gift Card also for those devices that qualify for reuse. In such cases, the monetary value of those will be estimated and the Apple Store Gift Card will be credited with that amount. This card can then be used to make purchases at any Apple Online Store or Apple Retail Store.
If it is not worth any value then there is a facility of recycling the equipment using one of the free recycling programmes offered by Apple.
According to Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), the new programs will add to the existing recycling programs established in cities and college campuses in 95% of the countries, where the company’s products are sold. The company claims that other programs related to non-Apple products also, have helped to take out more than 421 million pounds of electronics since 1994.
Google, also, celebrating with Doodle
Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL) is also celebrating the Earth Day 2014, and its homepage has six animated doodles that include the moon jellyfish, the Rufous hummingbird, a puffer fish, the veiled chameleon, the dung beetle and a pair of Japanese macaques. As you click the doodle these animals appear one by one and all of them wish Happy Earth Day to their viewers.
Celebrated on April 22, Earth Day is an annual event, celebrated worldwide to demonstrate support for environmental protection.
