Super Bowl week is always full of interviews and media events. Brady and Belichick already know everything about it as they were a part of the Super Bowl seven times in the past 16 years. They already understand how it goes and what can they expect from the media. Their relationship with Donald Trump is well known in the world of sports. It was expected that the media will ask them about their connection with the new president of the United States.
The answer of the New England Patriots members was just as predictable. When the reporters asked Belichick if he has any questions for Donald Trump, he just laughed, shook his head and waited for another question.
Brady was also asked to characterize his relationship with President Trump.
“I’m not talking about politics at all,” Brady said. “I just want to focus on the positive aspects of this game, my teammates and the reason why we are here. It has taken a lot of hard work to get to this point. I just want to focus on the positive nature of two great teams competing at this level.”
Atlanta’s receiver Mohamed Sanu had similar things to say to the media. He is there to talk about football and the game itself.
“I’m here because of my football talents, not because I’m Muslim. And I’m here to talk about football. So if you guys are going to continue to ask me about my religious beliefs, then I’m going to continue to tell you the same things: I’m here to talk about football,” Sanu said. “I have the tremendous love for all you guys, but I’m here to talk about football.”
