Star Wars 8: The Last Jedi has been the subject of many rumors and speculations recently as the production is keeping most information behind the closed doors. Not even celebrities have everything at palms of their hands. However, that did not prevent Josh Gad, the actor who lends his voice to Olaf in the famous Frozen movie, from asking Daisy Ridley some direct questions related to the upcoming sequel.
Apparently, Josh has played a little trick on Daisy, as he supposedly planned on asking her some question on another movie’s scene but in the end, he surprised her with the question “Who are the Jedi?” and whether the title was plural.
In no way did Daisy find this amusing and seemed to be rather uncomfortable because of the questions. The video ends precisely when Daisy starts to criticize Josh. One possible explanation to this is that the two were perhaps acting the whole thing out, but it could also be that Josh crossed his boundaries and upset Daisy.
In order to provoke her and make her answer the question he even gave out the information that Olaf would appear in Frozen 2. However, not even this tactics helped him.
Mark Hamill asked his director not to give certain information, as he tends to talk in his sleep.
“He (Rian Johnson) told me that when we were making the movie and I said ‘Don’t tell me these things!’ I talk in my sleep. They have us so jacked up with paranoia over leaks, but that’s the way of the world. It’s funny because back when we were making the original nobody cared.”
What is most likely is that the title has this hidden meaning on purpose, which is why they used the word Jedi, which has the same form in both singular and plural.
Star Wars: Episode 8 – The Last Jedi comes out on Dec. 15 and will be starring Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Billie Lourd, Mark Hamill, and others.
