In 2015 BMW M3 received a facelift, but now, this high-performance compact sedan will get another refreshment, but this one will be much smaller. What they changed on this model is the front fascia that has been slightly revamped in order to resemble the facelifted M4 coupe, and even someone who is into the cars would struggle with finding the differences.
2018 BMW M3 Release Date
Tanzanite Blue paint is already offered across the 3 Series range and this second facelift is shown on the vehicle with that color. The production of the 2018 BMW M3 will start in July, and the company decided to take a four-month break between the assembly of the 2017 model and the new one. So, if you want to purchase the new facelifted M3, you would be able to do so after August 2017.
Engine
Just like the M4’s LCI, the 2018 BMW M3 will only receive minor visual modifications while there will be no changes under the hood. It will still feature a biturbo 3.0-liter straight-six unit that produces 431 horsepower, but if you add Competition Package, you will increase this figure by 19 hp. With this optional package, the M3 will be able to go from 0 to 62 mph in 4.0 seconds whereas the engine is mated to the seven-speed, dual clutch transmission.
The package also brings re-tuned adaptive M suspension, a pair of sporty lightweight seats with an M signature, an M exhaust system, with black tips that are made of chrome and 20-inch alloy wheels. Last but not least, the more powerful M4 CS will also be presented by BMW later in 2017, and the new car will resemble the M4 GTS.
