Cleveland Cavaliers Reject Major Trade Offer From The Knicks

We are getting close to the NBA trade deadline, and the rumors are flying around, just like they are during every NBA season before the All-Star game. Teams are trying to position themselves for a run at the end of the year, but not all squads have those goals. Some are looking at the trade deadline as a prime opportunity to get something in return for a player that they don’t need or want to get rid off.

There are rarely trades that happen during the season which involve All-Star caliber players, but that doesn’t mean that it can’t happen. The last one to get traded before the deadline was Carmelo Anthony back in 2011 and the Knicks and the Nuggets swapped some players.

Now, a couple of years later, Carmelo Anthony is again in all the rumors as he might be looking to waive his no-trade clause and pursue the title somewhere else. It’s pretty clear now that he won’t be winning any titles in New York. If that is his goal, he needs to leave the Knicks.

It seems that New York is trying to find the landing spot for their potent scorer. They have offered Carmelo Anthony to the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for Cavs’ Power Forward, Kevin Love. According to reports, Cavs shut that trade offer down. It appears that they made the right decision by not biting on that deal.

Carmelo Anthony is still a borderline All-Star, but Kevin Love is a younger player and probably better choice at this point in time, locked in a long-term deal that is now looking pretty good with all these big deals that players got in 2016 and will continue to get in 2017. Good decision by the Cleveland Cavaliers.
