The 2018 BMW Z5 has been caught on camera, and for the first time, we have had a chance to see the rear end of the car, which gives us an idea of what the production model will look like.
The tailgate of the vehicle has a lip spoiler while the lights are pretty narrow with the central brake light positioned in the middle of the tailgate. Under the bumper, there are two exhaust tailpipes. According to several sources, the 2018 BMW Z5 will come with a hybrid powertrain, and BMW will offer the 4WD system as an option.
The front end of the Z4 successor has already been seen on some previous test models, and it hasn’t changed since, which means that we should expect two wide front kidney grilles. Speaking of the grille these are longer than the ones on the Z4, while also on the front end we can see a long hood and short overhangs.
We haven’t mentioned the headlights because they are placed on the vehicle for the sake of testing, and they will be replaced with the new ones on the production version. However, the orange indicators and main beam bulbs will be kept, but we expect for those to be redesigned. The German automaker announced this car back in 2015, and this has been the fourth time we have seen it going through the tests, and hopefully, more details about it will surface in the next few months.
Also, some people believe that the new BMW Z5 will share the platform with the new Toyota Supra because of the fact that these two car companies announced that they would work together on the development of the new sports car architecture. The 2018 BMW Z5 will be displayed either at the end of 2017 or the very beginning of 2018.
