Hiram Garcia, the producer of the upcoming superhero movie “Shazam!” has recently confirmed that the film is moving forward and that we should expect “big things.” His update on Twitter says: “Great meeting today at DC Comics talkin’ Shazam Black Adam & more! Big things are coming. Get ready.” And he is not the only one who is satisfied with the movie development. Dwayne Johnson, who will play Black Adam in “Shazam!” has also expressed his excitement about the project, together with Geoff Johns, DC Entertainment president.
This is what The Rock posted on Instagram: “Had a very cool and strategic meeting with the heads of DC about their entire universe. As a hard core DC fan, to get a real sense of the tonal shifts and developments coming in these future movies has me fired up. Something we, as DC fans have all been waiting for for a very long time. Hope, optimism & FUN. Even when talking about the the most ruthless villain/anti-hero of all time finally coming to life. Prepare yourselves DC Universe.” In the end, Johnson added: “One of my favorite meetings ever…”
According to the posts mentioned above, we can conclude that on this meeting they discussed further development of Shazam and Justice League movies. There are still no official announcements, but we assume that there is a possibility of Johnson’s character Black Adam and the Justice League team meeting up in “Shazam!” Such an assumption can be supported by the teases regarding Black Adam vs. Superman which Johnson and Henry Cavill have recently made. These are all only speculations for now, but we will keep you updated. What we know for sure is that “Justice League” is set to hit theaters in November this year, while “Shazam!” will not be released until 2019. Also, its director and other cast members, besides Dwayne Johnson, have not been announced yet.
