Thanks to what he does, and thanks to human nature Cristiano’s son, Cristiano Jr., has to “suffer” mocking and remarks regarding his father and his place in the football elite. As you can assume our four-time Ballon d’Or winner, has had to deal with questions like who is the better player he or his arch-rival Lionel Messi his entire career, but he managed to cope with that.
Now it appears that those same questions have found a way to bother his son just like they did him, but Cristiano says his son is “smarter” and knows better than to get involved in discussions regarding his father’s work. Ronaldo gave a statement to ON TV in which he said “There are people who sometimes say to him that “there is another player who is better than your father,” but he knows how to deal with that,” and he continued by adding “He is a smart boy, like me. I often tell him “be yourself and be polite.” I know that he will go through periods of adversity as there are jealous people out there, but I see him as a happy child.”
Although he knows what this kind of life brings, Cristiano Ronaldo (31) says that he would like for his son to continue in his footsteps and achieve a high-profile career someday, just like he did. He stated “Of course I would like it if he became a footballer. I know that it is a challenge and that it isn’t easy, but he can be whatever he wants to be as I won’t pressure him.” At the end of the statement, Cristiano joked a little by saying “I might be pushing him a little in the direction of becoming a footballer, but not to be a goalkeeper as I want him to be a forward!”
Both of them definitely have a lot of getting used to this particular part of life, well Jr. probably a little more than his father, but nevertheless they have to do this together. This way of life has its perks and everything, but it also draws a lot of bad from the world and people around, such as greed, envy, jealousy and God knows what else. Stay strong Jr., and keep it together!
