Even though the Dallas Cowboys won’t rest their starters and Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliot are going to play on Sunday, they will be limited. Zeke will likely play just the first half, just like his rookie teammate Dak Prescott. Well-known NFL reporter Adam Schefter has reported that the Dallas Cowboys plan on playing three quarterbacks in Philly.
Since this is just a glorified preseason game for the Cowboys as they have already clinched the home-field advantage in the Playoffs, there is no need for them to go all-out in this match. Starters will play, but the backups will have a greater role than usual in this duel with the Eagles.
The most notable backup by far that the Dallas Cowboys have is Tony Romo. Dak Prescott replaced him under the center this year, and Romo hasn’t played a single snap in the regular season. According to reports, that is about to change. It’s going to be interesting just how much time does he get on the field and what he will do with that time.
Should the Cowboys rest Prescott after the first quarter and give Tony second and third before Sanchez takes over? Will Romo play only in the third period of the game or maybe they will let him play the crunch time against the Eagles so that Jerry can show everybody that Tony still has a lot left in the tank?
Even though this game won’t have any impact on the Playoff picture, the 13-2 Dallas Cowboys will still be a fun team to watch. It’s going to be interesting to see what Garrett and Jones do with their signal callers in this contest.
