In the first meeting between these two teams Matt Ryan and Julio Jones had a blast playing against the Panthers defense. Matty Ice threw for over 500 yards while Julio was able to collect 300 receiving yards. In the process of doing that, these two made Panthers’ defense look pretty awful, probably the worst that we have seen in the past couple of years.
Cam Newton and company were able to spoil Washington’s Playoff plans on Monday Night Football, and they will try to do the same to the Falcons. Even though Atlanta is at the top spot of the NFC South, they still haven’t clinched the division. But, the only way they can miss the Playoffs is if they lose both of their last two games while Bucs win two of their final duels.
For the Panthers, this duel is not about the record or about making a Playoff push. Their chances are minimal, and that is kindly said. They don’t even think about making the postseason at this point as they need a lot of squads to lose and it’s just unrealistic. For them, this is about writing the wrong from that first matchup. Their defense looked awful as they gave up over 600 yards of total offense.
It’s revenge time for the Panthers. It’s going to be an interesting divisional contest in which we think both crews will be at their best. In the end, we are going to pick the Panthers to get revenge for their previous loss to the Falcons as they will win this one 30:27.
