We all have been preparing for the unveil of the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse, and just as we have given up hope for seeing any of the teaser images of it, Chevy decides to make us happy by releasing one before the official debut at the Detroit Auto Show set for January 9th, 2017.
Most of you probably are familiar about recent speculations regarding the possibility that the Traverse is going to receive a major update. Well, this is just in due time because this vehicle, made by GM, has gone without a significant redesign since its 2008 introduction, which in this industry segment and this market is totally unacceptable. The image, that hides more than it reveals, though, is giving us a glimpse at what will be more up-to-date than the outgoing vehicle, but what is even stranger is that Chevy is exercising their right to offer the minimum possible amount of info, unfortunately.
The design will, at least what we could “see” from the teaser image, be a lot similar to the current model, but with changes to side windows where they now appear to be somewhat slimmer and the front wheel arches that are now more pronounced. The front of the vehicle is more upright and, what didn’t surprise us is the addition of a new set of headlights and taillights. Another important thing accompanied this teaser photo, and that is the brief PR statement saying that 2018 Chevrolet Traverse will be able to seat eight passengers and “offer the segment’s best third-row legroom and maximum cargo space.” If all goes well, this will be a huge move forward for the Traverse but also for Chevrolet, at least in this segment.
