When it comes to muscle cars like 2017 Ford Mustang, we can immediately agree that the most important, or at least one of the most important segments is the engine lineup. Second place is taken by various features that certainly can make or break the deal. Let’s see what this beast has to offer.
2017 Ford Mustang Engines
The 2017 Ford Mustang is an attractive vehicle, but what lies under the hood is even better. Several engine options are offered, and the first one is the 3.7-liter v6 inside the Mustang V6. This engine is mated to a six-speed manual, but the automatic version is here as well. It produces 300 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque, and according to the EPA, it is rated at 18 mpg city and 27 mpg highway.
The second model is the Mustang EcoBoost, and it is equipped with a 2.3-liter turbo I4 unit that is good for 310 horses and 320 lb-ft of torque. Just like the V6, this unit is also combined with either a six-speed manual or automatic gearbox. The EPA-Rated Fuel Economy of the EcoBoost Ford Mustang is 21 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway. However, you can add Performance Package, which will affect your fuel economy on the highway and reduce it from 30 mpg to 28 mpg.
Last two models are the Mustang GT and GT350. There is also the GT350R, but it comes with the same 5.2-liter V8 powerplant as the GT350. These last two versions we have mentioned are the most powerful you can find within the lineup since the unit under the hood delivers 526 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque. On the other hand, we have the GT, and under its hood, you can find a 5.0-liter V8 engine that produces still respectable 435 hp and 400 pound-feet of torque.
