Fast 8 is the next sequel of the Fast and Furious franchise, and it will hit the theaters on April 14, 2017. The trailer was released, and we managed to spot the wide-body Dodge Challenger SRT. Don’t worry if you missed it, as it was hard seeing the wide body of the Challenger in all that chaos between vehicle explosions and multiple Challengers driven by the Toretto “clan” in the movie.
Although it is a secret, we know that the Dodge is currently focused on the new wide-body Challenger SRT Hellcat. This new vehicle will be named Hellcat ADR and it will have a similar body as the Challenger GT AWD concept, which was presented at 2015 SEMA Show. The new ADR will be an RWD vehicle with a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine that will again produce impressive 707 horses.
Dodge spokesperson Dan Reid said that whatever similarities people found between the muscle car in the movie and future Dodge production cars are coincidental. But is this really the case? The Challengers seen in the trailer have the same fender flares like the aforementioned concept, but could this be a result of “creative license” by the studio, as Reid said? We don’t know.
Whatever the case is, we have seen the look of the wide-body Dodge Challenger in the Fast 8 trailer. Do you think this is pure coincidence?
