Microsoft is finally delivering the goods as the new Surface Pro 5 is said to hit the market most likely in the spring of 2017. However, the latest info suggests that the launch is slightly postponed, because of some crucial pieces such as processors, which will arrive at the end of the month or start with the new year.
The Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 will be fully supported by the Surface Pro 5. According to the Verge, Microsoft will implement Windows 10 platform along with ARM-based processors. These processors differ from widely used x86 Intel chips as they bring extended battery life and incorporated cellular connectivity.
Soon to be introduced device will support Intel’s processor and Kaby Lake chipset, which gives you the benefit of saving power and outstanding performance. Some more information regarding the upcoming laptop is expected in the month to come.
Microsoft Surface Pro 5 Rumors
The Surface Pro 5 is said to house 512 GB of internal storage along with 16 GB of RAM and it will run on Windows 10 Redstone 2 operating system. It is also suggested that Surface Pro 5 will have a 2K screen, but for those who can afford it, 4K support will also be available.
The tablet will also have upgraded Surface Pen. It will feature a rechargeable battery with the capability to charge when attached to the tablet. In comparison to Surface Pro 4, the new device from tech giant is said to offer a better battery life. It is also speculated that the USB-C port and Thunderbolt 3 will be included.
Microsoft Surface Pro 5 Release Date, Price
The release date, as already mentioned, will probably take place in the first half of the next year. The starting price will most likely be around $899, but the price will vary depending on specifications and bundled accessories.
The Redmond-based firm is expected to release the long-awaited device at one of the following tech events: it will either be Consumer Electronics Show or Mobile World Congress, the rumor has it.
With Surface Pro 5, Microsoft is geared up to take on Apple’s MacBook Pro, and both of these devices will feature similar setup with Retina display, Touch Bar, big Force Touch trackpad, Touch ID, and USB-C ports.
Accompanied by Surface Pro 5, Surface Book 2 and the Surface Phone will also be brought to light.
