The sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaro hit the market as a 2016MY, and it is the best Camaro so far, but for the next year, the American carmaker prepares something even better. The 2017 model will come with the two additions to the lineup, Camaro ZL1, and Camaro 1LE.
The latter version will be offered either with the 3.6-liter V6 or a 6.2-liter V8 unit. The first engine is sourced from the Camaro V6 and the second powerplant can be found in the Camaro SS. The 1LE is a track-focused vehicle, but if you want the real performance beast, then the ZL1 is the best choice.

The Chevy Camaro ZL1 is equipped with a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine that is good for 640 hp and 640 lb-ft of torque. The most powerful Camaro is the current ZL1 model, but the new version will have 60 horses more. In addition, this new muscle car will shed 200 pounds, which will additionally improve the performance figures and handling.
The GMC joined forces with the Ford Motor Company in order to develop a new 10-speed automatic gearbox for the ZL1. Besides this gearbox, the standard 6-speed manual transmission will be offered as well.
The new car will feature magnetic ride control, launch control, and a driving modes selector. Furthermore, an electronic limited-slip differential and performance-oriented traction control are also included, and all of these improve driveability, and the car becomes fast on public roads not just on race tracks.
The base-trim of Camaro will come with a turbocharged 2.0-liter I4 good for 275 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. The next in line are the V6 and the SS models. This first one is equipped with a 3.6-liter V6 that produces 355 hp and 284 lb-ft of torque and the second one sports a 6.2-liter V8 rated at 455 hp and 455 lb-ft of torque.
2017 Chevrolet Camaro Price
The starting price of the 2017 Chevy Camaro is $27,595. The V6 and the V6 1LE cost $28,795 and $32,895 respectively. The next in line is the SS and if you opt for this model you will have to pay $37,900. Above it sits the SS 1LE that will set you back for $44,400 and the range-topping ZL1 is expensive, indeed – it starts at $62,135.
