Mats Wilander, Sweden’s legendary tennis player and Novak’s greatest critic used another opportunity to show just how xenophobic he is and criticized Novak, Serbs, and his fans. Mr. Wilander and Novak have some sort of an issue apparently, or better said Wilander has a problem with Novak because it seems that he can not comprehend that there is someone greater than he ever was. That is why Mats uses every opportunity he gets to criticize, lash out or even insult Novak, his nation, and fans.
Unfortunately, Serbian no.1 racket will now slide to second place on the ATP list and end this year behind Andy Murray who won the Barclay’s ATP World Tour Finals by defeating Djokovic with a result of 6:3 6:4. What makes this thing even more interesting is that the above mentioned Mr. Wilander is Andy’s biggest fan. Thanks to Andy’s win Wilander struck again and gave a statement which pretty much made entire tennis community and each and every fan that Novak has angry!
“Novak has won the final tournament five times. Nobody wants to see Djokovic triumph again, except for a few hundred Serbs”, was a statement that came from the mouth of an established commentator, talking on international TV (SkySports) – Mats Wilander. After this comment, social media burst in flames accusing Wilander that he is a xenophobe and that he should be fired from his position. Since the Swede is Andy’s biggest fan he used the same opportunity to praise Andy for using Novak’s fall and that he is by any definition deserved to be on top. “Djokovic has been first for a long time, but came the moment when he fell. When all things are considered, Murray is the only thing that remains. Federer is 35 years old and I’m not sure that he can fight for the Grand Slam trophy any more, while Nadal could be competitive, but it will be hard for him to be the best again” added Wilander.
To all of you, that recall Wilander had some other statements where he showed animosity toward Serbian tennis player where he compelled lists of top tennis players that he thought are the best and Novak was nowhere to be found on the list. Furthermore, before any match, Novak was due to play Mats made predictions against him, praised Andy Murray on any occasion he could and so on. Wilander is truly against Novak never mind the situation, the only thing is that nobody knows why he does what he does? Hopefully, Novak will have much more occasions to prove Wilander wrong like he did in the past in many cases!
