When there is talk about the Green Bay Packers and them really struggling this season, there is a lot of talk about Aaron Rodgers and him not playing up to his standards. Well, he is not as good as we have remembered him to be, but that is only because he set the standards so high in the past couple of year.
Truth be told, he is having a decent season, just not good enough when compared to previous performances and what we are used to seeing. Rodgers did have a pretty decent game in Washington, and yet, Packers were nowhere near winning on Sunday evening in Nation’s Capital.
Packers quarterback finished the game with three touchdown passes and no interceptions. He completed 26 out of his 41 pass attempts and 351 passing yards. He also ran for 33 yards in three tries. Definitely, when looking at the performances and stats of this man, it is clear that them losing is not his fault.
The problem for the Packers is their defense that is letting them down in each and every duel. They are making opponents offenses look like one of the elite squads in the NFL. Their defense has given up more than 40 points for the second straight match, while there is almost no game in which they don’t give up over 30.
Their running game is also very weak as Rodgers was their leading rusher last night, while James Starks recorded only 25 yards on 9 rushing attempts.
Packers are now in an even deeper hole than they were before last night’s match. Both Lions and Vikings have won their duels so Green Bay’s Playoff hopes are even slimmer now.
