The new version of the Huracan has joined the lineup, and it has been named Spyder. What is specific about this model is that it comes with RWD. The Lamborghini Huracan Spyder has been introduced at the Los Angeles Auto Show this week, and the new vehicle has some authentic styling elements, which are not available for the AWD Lamborghini models.
Lamborghini Huracan Spyder Engine
Under the hood, you can find a powerful 5.2-liter naturally-aspirated V10 unit that produces 572 hp. This is a slight decrease in power, taking into consideration that the standard model produces 602 hp. Even in this tuned down iteration it is capable of fantastic performances, it takes 3.6 seconds for the Spyder to go from 0 to 60 mph. The top speed of the car is 198 mph, which is remarkable.
The engine is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, which sends power to the rear wheels. Just like in the AWD models, a potent launch control function is included, so you will be able to get pretty impressive neck breaking starts. Among other options, this supercar has differently tuned steering as well as the optional Lamborghini Dynamic Steering.
The front bumper on the Spyder resembles the one on the Huracan Coupe. Air intakes contain horizontal slates in the middle so that the car would look even more aggressive than it already is. There are some minor modifications at the rear end, but the largest change would be a new bumper.
The Huracan Spider boasts a fabric soft-top which can be opened or closed in 17 seconds. It is expected that the new Lamborghini Huracan Spyder goes on sale in January next year. The starting price will be somewhere between 2WD and 4WD coupe variants. Looking at the cost jump in case of coupe model we think that it should arrive with $230,000 tag.
