Anyone who is a LEGO buff might have seen a Megazord and the T-Rex Battle Zord versions as well as God-only-knows how much other “Power Rangers” collectibles that emerged in preparations for the March 24th debut of the new movie. What is interesting is that those LEGO collectibles have a lot less chance to gladden fans than this “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” LEGO set. The only problem with it – it is not real. Well, it is not real for now.
This LEGO set was submitted last week to LEGO Ideas where you know that LEGO creators share their sets and ideas in a hope that they will see the production green light. The catch here is that creation has to attract 10.000 supporters which will immediately qualify it for a review by the toy maker. It suffices to say, but those who pass the evaluation process are bound to become an official LEGO product, where the creator will receive the fees from its sales.
This particular “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” LEGO set was submitted by a user named “bruceywan” and it recreates the TV show’s Command Center all together with complete computer terminals, viewing globe, power spires and a custom-printed energy tube showing off Zordon’s floating (and studded) head. It really is an amazing sight and has a great number of details to it. The set, of course, wouldn’t be complete without the show’s protagonists the mini figures of Alpha 5 and seven Power Rangers – Black Ranger, Pink Ranger, Blue Ranger, Yellow Ranger, Red Ranger, Green Ranger and White Ranger. What is a cherry on top of all of this is that the main figures will all come with one key feature – each with a removable helmet. Neat ha!?
The creator of this set, “bruceywan”, stated “I’ve loved the concept of LEGO Ideas from its inception and have been impressed by every set released” and added “I’ve been waiting for the right idea and the right time to try my hand at a project. As a lifelong LEGO builder (and Power Rangers fan!), and now the proud father of two Power Rangers fans, this set seemed like a no-brainer. Please help me make LEGO Power Rangers a reality; if not for me and my sons, than for everyone to celebrate the upcoming movie and/or the Power Rangers’ 25th anniversary in 2018!”
What is great here is that the “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” set has already gathered 1.728 supporters (and rising) with 602 days left to go, which puts it in a category of more than likely to breach the milestone of needed fans for the review. If you ever liked the show or you are LEGO enthusiasts, we suggest you yo check it out and support it because it’s indeed awesome!
