The 2017 Toyota Highlander is going to cost at least $31,570 once it hits the market this month. In general, the prices have risen depending on a trim, comparing to the last year.
The new model will have different styling and modified powertrains as well. Furthermore, the company added Toyota Safety Sense P among its standard equipment. This means that you will get lane departure alert with steering assist and automatic high beams. In addition, a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection and dynamic radar cruise control are included in the package.

The entry-level LE version comes with Entune audio system with 6.1-inch touchscreen, a windshield wiper de-icer and Bluetooth. This model also offers a backup camera, whereas the second and third-row seats can be folded if necessary. The base trim comes with a V4 engine, but if you want a more powerful V6 unit you will have to add $2,050 to the price. You can also choose an AWD, which is optional.
Nevertheless, other models contain V6 unit as a standard. The two-wheel-drive LE Plus costs $36,000, whereas for the AWD LE Plus you would need to pay $37,460. This trim is equipped with an updated infotainment system with 8-inch display and Sirius XM, steering wheel wrapped in leather and fog lights. In addition SofTex seats, shift knob and three-zone climate control are offered in this trim as well. This model costs $665 more than the last year.
The XLE comes with heated front seats, moonroof and an anti-theft system. If you opt for this trim, you will have to enjoy leather upholstery, navigation, second-row sun shades and smart key with push-button start and these are only some of the features. The two-wheel drive version is priced at $39, 46 and the AWD model would set you back $40,920.
Moreover, the SE model is offered and it brags with 10-inch alloy wheels, headlamps and roof rails, whereas the seats come in black color with silver stitching. For example, the front grille comes in the dark paint, which means that this trim has seen some cosmetic updates. The SE also brings a sport-tuned front and rear suspension, and the car with the two-wheel-drive is sold for $40,630, unlike the AWD model, which is priced at $42,090.
The two-wheel-drive Limited models go for $42,620, whereas the AWD variants cost $44,080. They feature a plethora of upgrades such as blue LED ambient lighting and heated and ventilated front seats. Furthermore, unique Chromtec wheels are included together with seven-passenger seating with second-row captain’s chairs.
The Platinum package offers the aforementioned captain’s chairs. In addition, bird’s eye view camera, panoramic roof and heated steering wheel are only some of the features you get with this package. For the car with these benefits, you would have to cough up 45,740 for the two-wheel-drive version or $47,200 for the AWD model.
Under the hood of the Highlander lies a 3.5-liter V6 engine rated at 295 hp. Furthermore, the company offers Highlander Hybrid, with the same engine, but with a hybrid system which enhances fuel economy. As for the Hybrid trims, you can opt for LE, XLE, Limited and Limited Platinum trims. They cost between $37,210 and $48,820.
