Verizon Communications Inc (NYSE:VZ) is not staying in the sidelines as competition heats up within the wireless communications space. The largest mobile network operator in the United States is stepping up its efforts to defeat its competitors and attract more consumers to shift to its service.
On Wednesday, Verizon Wireless posted a message on Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR), which reads, “Coming soon: The next game changer from Verizon Wireless. Find out #more tomorrow…”
Verizon Wireless is reported to roll out its “More Everything” plan starting Thursday. Technology observers suggest that the largest mobile network operator will offer subscribers with more of everything—unlimited talk, text, data, cloud storage, and unlimited international messaging at no extra cost.
According to reports, Verizon Communications Inc (NYSE:VZ) decided to increase Verizon Wireless’ 500MB, 1GB, and 2GB Share Everything data plans to 1GB, 2GB and 3GB without increasing its service fee, and to automatically switch its customers to the new plans particularly those haven’t changed their service from their grandfathered unlimited data plans.
In addition, Verizon Communications Inc (NYSE:VZ) is reducing the price for its Verizon Edge plans. Customers with 8GB or less will see $10 price reduction while those with 10GB or more will enjoy a $20 price cut.
The company is also offering on-contract customers with an early upgrade to the latest devices without upgrade fees, and it does not require long-term contracts. The promotion is good until the end of March.
Furthermore, Verizon Wireless will be offering a 25GB cloud storage and international text messaging to all plans.
Verizon Communications Inc (NYSE:VZ) strengthened its promotional campaigns to keep its customers from migrating to T-Mobile US Inc (NYSE:TMUS), which offered to pay off the early termination fees of customers who will switch to its service.
On the other hand, AT&T, Inc (NYSE:T) also fired back by offering incentives to other wireless customers, and specifically targeted T-Mobile customers by offering to pay as much as $450 to transfer to its service.
