We can have a deeper insight of what the new Holden Cruze will look like since it has been rendered. The Holden Cruz was first introduced in June 2015 in the US and the new model will hit the market together with the Astra hatchback. The 2018 model will substitute the last-generation that was manufactured in Australia.
Remco Meulendijk, the independent Dutch artist is behind this rendered photo. This rendering is based on a prototype which was previously observed in Germany. This prototype was a right-hand drive model and it was equipped with an Opel grille. It was unusual that Opel didn’t test the vehicle with the left-hand drive first.
The new Cruze will have the similar design as the GM’s European models rather than Chevrolet’s range, which are produced mainly in South Korea. The new Cruze can be found in factories in China and the US. The model for the US soil comes with a 1.4-liter turbocharged V4 petrol engine rated at 113kW and 240Nm of torque. According to the GM, the new vehicle goes from 0 to 60 mph in 8.0 seconds.
The new car will feature many improvements in the cabin too, some of them being safety upgrades. The latest model will be equipped with ten airbags, rear cross-traffic alert and forward collision mitigation. Moreover, the new car contains blind-spot monitoring, 4.2-inch driver’s instrument display and lane-keep assist. The 2018 Holden Cruze will hit the market early next year.
