The 2017 Nissan Navara has seen some major adjustments. First of all, there have been some changes regarding the suspension, but also, a new middle trim SL 4×4 model has been introduced within the range. In addition, the company has offered more automatic variants.
Engine
The engine remains unchanged, however. The entry-level Navara is still equipped with a 2.5-liter V4 petrol engine that produces 122kW and 238 Nm of torque. In addition to that single turbo variant comes with a pair of 2.3-liter turbo diesel engine that delivers 120kW and 403 Nm of torque. Last, but not least, the upper trims ha a twin-turbo unit installed, rated at 140kW and 450 Nm of torque.

New SL Trim
The new SL 4×4 model has a twin-turbo diesel engine under the hood, which produces 140kW and 450 Nm of torque. The new trim falls between RX and ST trims and it comes as a dual cab pick-up truck. The buyers are able to choose between a 6-speed manual or 7-speed automatic gearbox.
Some of the standard features of the SL are a reversing camera, durable vinyl floor, and 16-inch screen. Furthermore, the new variant comes with NissanConnect smartphone integration. This vinyl floor is interesting because it also appears in RX single and dual cab models. As for the ST model, the standard satellite navigation is one of the upgrades, whereas a floor-level rear cup holder has been inserted into all dual cab STs.
Suspension Upgrades
New front and rear shock absorbers, rear rebound dampers and rear coil spring have been upgraded to the suspension. With these updates, the handling of the car is improved especially when the car is loaded. Furthermore, according to the company the lateral stability of the Navara has also been enhanced.
The sunroof will no longer be a standard option with the top trim ST-X, but you can add it if you like it that way. An automatic transmission is now available with the RX 4×4 cab chassis, which hasn’t been a possibility before.
Pricing
The DX and RX variants of the 2017 Navara Series 2 come with an unchanged price. If you want to add a sunroof back, you will need to add $1000 more to the price. SL 4×4 with a manual transmission starts at $43,990 whereas the automatic option costs $46,490.
