New York Jets are off to a horrible start to the season. They earned only their second win yesterday against the Ravens, and they did it wth two quarterbacks. Fitzpatrick was benched for Geno Smith last week. He started the game against Baltimore but didn’t finish it as he was taken out with a knee injury.
Ryan Fitzpatrick had to step up and get in the match even though he was benched just a couple of days before. He did lead the Jets to victory as he went 9/14 for 120 yards and a touchdown. Ironically, that was probably his best performance of the year, and it came after he got benched for Smith that just wasn’t lucky enough to enjoy his time on the field.
After the game, he didn’t hold back, and he took a small shot at the whole Jets upper management and that includes the owner, general manager, and his head coach.
“When owner stops believing in you, and GM stops believing in you, and coaches stop believing in you, sometimes all you have is yourself.”
Ryan Fitzpatrick has been awful in the second halves of all six games that he started. He is leading the league in interceptions, and that is the reason why all those people probably don’t believe in him as much as they did last season. If Geno can’t play in the coming weeks, that might just give Fitzpatrick another shot to show why Jets’ upper management should have faith in him again. We can also add that if the change under the center for Baltimore was the wake-up call for Ryan, it is sad that it wasn’t done earlier.
