The next-generation Lincoln Navigator was spotted, but due to the heavy camouflage, we couldn’t tell much about the upgrades. The company even camouflaged rear windows so it was difficult to see the interior.
Exterior
However, judging by the shape of the vehicle we can conclude that it will stay true to the concept car. The only major difference is that the concept has gull-wing doors, which will be abandoned on the production model.
Interior
Yes, this vehicle was camouflaged completely, but we managed to catch a glimpse of the interior. We can conclude that the infotainment system will be large and surrounded by chrome surface. The similar interior traits can be found in the concept.
The cabin of the concept car is stylish and classic at the same time with the simple digital instrument panel. Navigation display and speedometer are located on that panel whereas the center console is equipped with physical controls for the dashboard. It would be amazing if the company took most of the parts from the concept and put it in the production version.
Engine
The engine in the current model is a 3.5-liter biturbo V6 and it delivers 380 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. So we expect that the same unit is installed in the 2018 Lincoln Navigator model, but with slightly more power.
The engine in the concept car produces 400 hp whereas in the Raptor it reaches 450 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque. The engine may remain the same as in the ongoing model, but the 10-speed automatic transmission will probably replace the 6-speed automatic gearbox.
The latest Ford F-150 provided a chassis for the Navigator. Furthermore, the body panels will be made out of aluminum, so the car will see a dramatic weight reduction.
The new Lincoln Navigator will hit the market in 2017 as a 2018MY.
