SCG003S is now street legal – Introduced by Jim Glickenhaus

If you haven’ heard about Jim Glickenhaus, he is an American car collector. If you haven’t heard what he did for us car enthusiast, we’re about to tell you. He introduced to the world a street legal version of SCG003S.

This model that is, as we already said, a road-legal carries the name SCG003S. S stands for Stradale. Same as we can see on the track-bound model, this one has extremely aerodynamic design and shares some of the styling cues with it. Full-width rear wing and wrap-around windshield are the most notable ones that can also be seen in LMP1 class of the 24 Hours of Le Mans vehicles. In order to keep its weight in check, the car is made entirely out of carbon-fiber.

Engine and specs of SCG003S

The standard model that is being used for racing on Le Mans is powered by Honda’s V-6 engine. This will not be the case with street-legal version because it will be hiding the 4.4-liter V8 in its engine bay. This powerplant will be positioned behind the passenger seats and is rumored that is going to be heavily tuned in order to pump out insane 750hp. Entire specs list for this engine haven’t been revealed, and on top of that, we are not getting details about the supplier of this unit. We don’t know about you, but we believe that best 4.4-liter eight-cylinder comes from BMW. Will it be from German carmaker or from someone else it remains to be seen but what stands as truth is that SCG003S will go from 0-60 in less than three seconds with a top speed of up to 217 mph.

People in charge of manufacturing the SCG003S are from Maniffatura Automobili Torino from Torino Italy. Price and number of copies haven’t been released yet by Glickenhaus, but it’s said that it will definitely be a limited edition.
