We have become familiar with the sedan and wagon version of the new generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class. However, besides the sedan and wagon, there will be many more body styles offered by the company.
China had a chance to meet new long-wheelbase E-Class L model recently. Meanwhile, on some spy photos we can see the coupe prototypes, but in addition to it, convertible and high-performance variants will hit the market at some point.
The new vehicle will resemble the current one and Mercedes’ decision not to risk with the E-Class is justified. The only noticeable difference is that the new model will be slightly larger and the surface is going to be smoother.

The 2015 C-Class will borrow the RWD platform called MRA to the upcoming Coupe. With it, the new model will reduce some weight and it will be more dynamic. The AWD will be offered for the coupe, which will feature a 9-speed automatic gearbox.
As for the engine, gasoline and diesel options will be available and both will include inline-4 and inline-6 power plants. If Mercedes-AMG adds a high-performance E63 Coupe to the range, it will come with twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine that produces almost 600 hp.
The new vehicle will be equipped with many features and advanced autonomous driving capabilities. Moreover, the usual dashboard displays will be substituted by two modern display screens.
The 2018 Mercedes-Benz E-Class will hit the market sometime next year. Based on the camouflaged parts, we won’t wait long for the debut.
