The Ford F-Series Super Duty appeared on the market in 1999 for the first time. Before the company decided to launch the HD model, they had been trying out various unusual things with their cars. So before we move to the new model let’s go back a few years back.
First of all, The F-250 was popular from 1997 to 1999. The car came with unique 7-lug wheels, load-leveling rear suspension and a heavy duty rear axle and F-150 served as its inspiration. The F-150 changed the name once the Super Duty line was introduced. The name of the new model was F-150 “7700” model and gross vehicle weight rating was higher than the regular F-150.
Now, take a look at the spy shots of the 2018 Ford F-150 Super Duty. The vehicle is camouflaged almost completely so it is impossible to see the design. What we can assume based on the low ride height and low-profile name is a two-wheel-drive F-150 chassis.
Furthermore, we can expect higher load capacity because of the 8-lug wheels. Furthermore, the grille is supposed to be different than the current model. If you get a closer look, it appears that some writing is imprinted into the grille, but we don’t know what it says.
Nissan’s decision to produce Titan XD had been questioned for one reason which was based on the thought that the buyers would either opt out for a fully developed HD or a ½ ton truck. It appears that Ford considers that there will be space in the market for their new heavy-half.
