The goal for Tickford is to start the production of a new generation of Australian Performance vehicles and the owners of the Prodrive Racing Australia Supercars team have revived the brand.
Tim Edwards, the CEO of Tickford and race team principal is the leader of the project and the car was produced in the factory in Melbourne.
Tim Edwards said:”Tickford has been a much-heralded automotive brand since its inception and has delivered performance programs for a wide variety of models and we intend to continue that tradition. We are direct descendants of Tickford’s last incarnation and think delivering personalisation packages for the iconic Mustang halo car and class-leading Ranger is both in keeping with Tickford’s history, while also a clear nod to the future.”
He also added:”The local automotive engineering industry is enduring its most challenging time ever so we see the re-emergence of Tickford and with it a new generation of Australian performance vehicles, as the ideal way to give vehicle enthusiasts something to get excited about.”
The overhauled Ranger ute has been released after two years of development. The slogan of Tickford is “Performance driven by Passion”. The company will try to improve interior and exterior styling, ride and handling and powertrain in the future.
The Ranger has new filters and pipe kits as a part of the powertrain upgrade. Moreover, the car comes with an advanced intercooler, ECU recalibration and 2.5-inch cat-back exhaust. These updates have a warranty by Tickford and if you are interested all of that cost $7995.
According to the company, the power has been increased by 15 percent and torque by 20 percent, due to these upgrades.
Tickford’s Director of Performance Parts, Tony Harris said:”The Powertrain Upgrade is somewhat a signature package for Tickford and is something our technical team is very proud of. It not only delivers noticeable increases in power and torque, but it does so in a smooth, linear fashion which highlights the refinement of the package.”
Bilstein dampers, which come as the part of suspension upgrades, will have a starting price of $1285 whereas 20-inch alloys will cost $4530.
As for the exterior, you will have to pay $300 if you want new door handles and $1375 for the custom side steps made by the company. On the other hand, the upgraded leather upholstery in the cabin will set you back $3905.
Harris also added:”Tickford’s ride and handling package for Ranger provides a sure-footed, safe and compliant drive which brings an improved feel for the driver on-road, yet importantly for us maintains the vehicle’s off-road capability. The combination of Bilstein dampers, our own 20-inch alloy wheel and Goodyear Wrangler tires is one we are very happy with and sitting under an aggressive-looking fender flare just adds to the appeal.”
Tickford will also include both V8 and EcoBoost versions of Mustang into their range. Moreover, Tickford Modification Centers will be added in Sydney by the end of this year and in Brisbane in 2017.
