If you’ve been in an opportunity to see the latest news surrounding the Huawei Mate 9, then you saw a bunch of things like dual camera setup although slightly different in configuration than on P9. Furthermore, there was news about a possibility of 12, or even 20 megapixel camera and the latest reports are about the Leica camera branding similar to its P9 cousin.
The most recent leak on Chinese site Weibo showed Mate 9 with Leica branding on its camera lenses clearly visible on the new rendered images. Apparently, Mate 9 will have slightly better aperture f/2.0 than the P9 which hosted f/2.2. All of this doesn’t come as a surprise thanks to their very good partnership so far and success they have made on the P9. These two companies (Huawei and Leica) have agreed to cooperate and have an R&D center which they opened together based in Wetzlar, Germany. They formed their partnership around the production of “wide range of photographic and mobile device applications” and “computational imaging, augmented reality and virtual reality solutions.”
Apparently, Huawei has taken the camera setup inside their smartphones very seriously and not just as a marketing scheme to attract more customers. It seems that they really offer what they advertise, unlike the others.
We should tell you as well that on the leaked images from Weibo site you can see that Huawei is offering three types of Mate 9 with varying amounts of storage and colors reserved for each one. First one or entry level device will have 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of storage and will be available in graphite, silver, and gold colors. Second will host 4 GB of RAM, 128 GB of storage and will be available in graphite, white, gold and rose gold while the top end Mate 9 will have 6 GB RAM, 256 GB storage, and fantastic six color options: graphite, white, gold, black, rose gold and brown.
