2017 Alfa Romeo Giulietta will cost you at least $29,900 (plus on-road costs $900). This is the revealed price for the new model from the Italian factory. New pricing that includes better equipment, revised styling treatments and high-quality interior trims and finishes has been announced just before the October launch in Australia.
If you take a closer look from the outside, you will notice two new designs for the alloy wheels and also new logos and tailpipes.
But, the most interesting thing with the 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulietta is actually in the model names. Italians have decided to bring back some of the versions they used before. Precisely, “Super” and “Veloce” are back in the game! They were adopted by Alfa Romeo back in the ‘60s and ‘70s.
This resulted in removing some of the previous nameplates. “Progression” won’t be used anymore as the “Super” will take its place. The heart — a 1.4-litre petrol engine with the turbocharger. Power – 110kW, torque – 250Nm, transmission – manual, six speed. As for the specs, it will need 8,2 seconds to reach 100km/h and the top speed is 210km/h. They say it will use 5.5 l per 100km in the combined conditions. “Super” will come with 16-inch alloy wheels, rear parking sensors, and switchable driving modes. Of course, not only that. Halogen headlights, LED daytime running lights, honeycomb front grille with black front bumper insert, darkened headlight clusters. The mirrors will be body-colored. Inside you will find leather-wrapped steering wheel, silver ball gear knob and a 5” UConnect touchscreen infotainment system. For those who would like to pay extra – 6.5” touchscreen with SAT NAV is available.
There is also “Super TCT” version, even better. For $5k more, you will get extra 15kW of power from the 1.4-litre powerplant and a six-speed twin-clutch automatic transmission. The 17” wheels are included in the price ($34,900), as well as front and rear parking sensors. Of course, the bigger touchscreen also. It takes half a second less to get to 100km/h with the maximum speed of 218km/h. Fuel consumption is rated at incredible 4.9 l combined.
If you think this is not enough for you, and you want even more equipment and better performances, then there is Giulietta Veloce. This one replaces Giulietta Quadrofoglio Verde. For the money you pay for it, it really has good features. It has a 1.75-litre turbocharged engine with 177kW of power and 340Nm of torque and a 6-speed twin-clutch automatic transmission. All that power is transferred to the front wheels as the Italian car maker does in most of its latest cars. It comes with even bigger wheels – 18” alloy wheels, leather, and Alcantara seat trim with integrated headrests. It’s strong and muscular, both in look and power. It has launch control, red Brembo front brake calipers, dark gloss finish on the mirrors, door handles, and fog light surrounds, as well as the sports pedals. The price is $41,900, and you also get sports suspension, rear diffuser, bi-xenon headlights, dual exhaust pipes, flat-bottomed steering wheel, front and rear bumpers with the brand’s red pinstripes and also carbon-look headlight clusters.
Maximum speed is 244km/h, and it takes only 6 seconds to reach 100km/h. The consumption is not its best side since it needs 6.8 liters for 100km in combined drive cycle.
All these 2017 models and versions will be available from the 1st of October.
