After having an MVP-caliber season during the 2014 campaign, Dallas’ Quarterback Tony Romo has struggled to stay on the field. He was injured for most of the time, and the Cowboys were really struggling without him under center. In their last 16 games in which Romo was on the sidelines, they have won only 2. Both wins were on the road; both wins were against Washington.
But, there is a caveat to that. Cowboys didn’t have good backup Quarterbacks. As a matter of fact, they were abysmal. Now, they have their guy in rookie QB Dak Prescott who is looking to be the future of this team.
Former Cowboys’ corner and the best to ever play the game was asked about Cowboys’ QB situation. He was given 15 seconds to answer whether or not Romo will be under the center for ‘Boys when he returns.
“No. I don’t need 15 seconds”, said Prime Time.
It’s clear that one of the legends of this game doesn’t think that Cowboys should insert Romo when he returns from the injury. And he has a point. Just had his third back procedure, was unavailable for most of the last season and is looking like father time is catching up to him.
Dak Prescott has shown the ability to lead this team in games and his time on the field will serve him well. Development is highly important with rookie QBs. Him being on the field is the best option for his progress if Dallas believes that he is their man.
