Another chapter of this huge rivalry between these two teams has been written. Both teams needed this victory as they lost their Week 1 matchups. It was a tense game, a true nail-biter but Cowboys prevailed at the end.
Dak Prescott threw for 292 yards and was 22/30 on the day. He wasn’t able to throw a TD, but he had a 6-yard run for a score. Bryant recorded seven catches for 102 yards while Cole Beasley hauled in five balls for 75 yards.
Cowboys’ running game was more than active as Ezekiel Elliot bounced back with 21 carries and 83 yards on the ground with a Touchdown. Alfred Morris was able to ruin the day for his former team as he was the one to score a game-winning TD to put his team ahead with just under two minutes left on the clock.
This was a huge game for these Cowboys for more reasons than one. First of all, the win was much needed. Dez Bryant was back at being a dominant force and a tough cover for his defenders. Elliot has a solid game while Dak Prescott showed us that he can be good enough for this team to succeed until Romo gets back.
And of course, it’s always crucial to be winning games against the divisional rivals. That can be the deciding factor at the end of the season. Washington is now 0-2, right at the bottom of NFC East.
