LeBron James and Stephen Curry have dominated this award in the past years, but will we see the new MVP? Or will it be one of these two again? Well, it’s hard to guess. But on the other hand, we do have an idea about which players should be in the game for NBA’s Most Valuable Player Award.
5. STEPHEN CURRY – Two-time, back-to-back NBA MVP is ready to avenge his loss in 2016 NBA Finals. His team is stronger than ever and with the addition of Kevin Durant, they should be back at the top. His numbers are going to take a small hit now when Durant is on the team, but Warriors will certainly have a great record yet again. That puts Curry in the conversation right away.
4. KEVIN DURANT – A team that has two legitimate MVP candidates? Maybe even three? Well, Durant is still one of the best players in the NBA. Warriors are going to be great, and he might be the best player on the squad. Their run will be amazing and just like in Curry’s case; Durant can be the MVP Candidate.
3. KAWHI LEONARD – San Antonio Spurs are probably the second best team in the West. Now when Duncan is gone, Kawhi is ready to take over the team and be a leader on and off the field. Favorite to win the Defensive Player of the Year award, but also he should be in the MVP competition as he is one of the best two-way players in the game.
2. LEBRON JAMES – Of course LeBron is going to make the list as he has been an MVP candidate for the past decade. Defending NBA champions should run the East yet again, and King James is expected to be leading the way. James is still Cavaliers’ best player. Not only that, he is widely considered to be the best on the planet.
1.RUSSELL WESTBROOK – Now when KD is not a member of the Thunders, Russell Westbrook will be Oklahoma City’s option number one, two and three. This man will be carrying his team on his back while recording a lot of triple-doubles. Monster stats will be there, and if the Thunders reach a top 4 seed in the West, Russell will be the favorite to win Most Valuable Player Award.
