Early Life
On 15th July 1976, in San Diego, California, Esther P. Mendez and Jesus Iglesias welcomed their son Gabriel Jesus Iglesias into this world. He attended Woodrow Wilson Classical High School. He spent most of his youth in Long Beach but lived in many cities including Santa Ana, Baldwin Park, Compton, and Riverside.
At one point, his health was endangered by his weight. He weighed 445 pounds at that time. Doctors urged him to do something about it, so he went to Diamond Dallas Page Yoga and cut carbohydrate from his diet. After a while, he was above 100 pounds lighter. He has Type II Diabetes.

Iglesias’ first official job was in a cell phone company. He didn’t stay there long, and he tried himself in comedy. In 2001, Comedy Central Presents hired him to perform for them. In the period between 2006 and 2008, Iglesias starred in the television show The Emperor’s New School.
