Dallas Cowboys have had a great 2014 season with DeMarco Murray running the ball. But, since they let him go to Philly last season they weren’t able to find his replacement, at least not good enough. That changed during the 2016 NFL Draft when they selected Ezekiel Elliot with their 4th overall choice. He was so dominant in college football, and now he is running behind the best offensive line in the NFL. What’s not to like about this guy?
Well, his NFL debut was okay as he was able to run for 51 yards on 20 carries and one TD. A decent showing for a rookie running back but manny people think that he should do better. He thinks that as well.
“I think I was average. That’s not why I was brought here to be average, so we’ve got a lot of work to get done”.
His longest run was that 8-yard score but other than that he didn’t really make enough big plays that Dallas needed in this game. So yes, his performance was average, and he needs to step up, especially now when Tony Romo is out.
Stephen A. Smith has even stated that his Week 1 performance was below average and that he “needs to stop lying to the American public by saying that his performance was average”.
A lot is expected from this man who should be a driving force for this team on the offensive side of the ball. He needs to raise his game to another level if Cowboys want to keep their Playoff dreams alive. It’s only one game, but this dude needs to start producing sooner rather than later.
