Duane “Dog” Chapman, also known as Dog the Bounty Hunter is an American bounty hunter and a TV personality, as well as a former bail bondsman. He became famous thanks to his reality TV series “Dog the Bounty Hunter” on A&E,where he searched for fugitives from the law and captured them. The popular show ran for 8 seasons and 246 episodes, from 2004 to 2012.
He was born on February 2, 1953 in Denver, Colorado, USA. He is the eldest of the four children in his family.
In 1976, he was convicted of a first-degree murder and was sentenced to five years in a Texas prison. He served 18 months. A prison guard there inspired him to become a bounty hunter once he is free. He is not allowed to own a firearm of any sorts. Duane has been accused of being racist during his life. He is banned from entering United Kingdom.
